DESCRIPTION
In Display&Monitor configuration.
My configuration is I have 3 connected monitors, 2 at my desk extended 1 is a
tv that is duplicated to my primary monitor. One monitor is turned 90 degrees
in order to use it as a chat screen and as a long terminal screen.
my horizontal screen is on the left, physically and my vertical screen is on
the right.
I have found that the system retains information for screen placement even if a
monitor is duplicated.
It will show an error "Gaps between displays are not supported. Make sure all
displays are touching."
for some reason in a recent update, my monitors were swapped automatically and
I could not correct them.
I fixed the problem by disabling the 3rd display and then by placing it in
extended which showed me where it was placed on the field. The OS and KDE
remembers the placement of it even if that placement is irrelevant but it does
not show why unless you extend the display rather than duplicating it.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. have 3 displays
2. place all three displays in extended.
2. duplicate the 3rd display to the display on the opposite side of the middle
display.
3. attempt to change the display orientation of the other two extended displays
or make one a primary display.
OBSERVED RESULT
error message stating
"Gaps between displays are not supported. Make sure all displays are touching."
cannot apply the configuration
EXPECTED RESULT
2 displays extended side by side with the ability to arrange them to mirror
their physical configuration with a 3rd display duplicated to the first.
