SUMMARY
krfb-virtualmonitor fails immediately on startup after upgrading kwin,
kwin-libs, kwin-common, kpipewire, and plasma-workspace from 6.7.0 to 6.7.1 on
Fedora 44. krfb itself was not part of this update (stayed at 26.04.2-1).
qt6-qtbase was also not part of this update (unchanged at 6.11.1-1), ruling out
a Qt bump as the cause.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Run: krfb-virtualmonitor --name StreamFeed --resolution 1920x1080 --password
stream123 --port 5900
OBSERVED RESULT
qt.qpa.services: Failed to register with host portal
QDBusError("org.freedesktop.portal.Error.Failed", "Could not register app ID:
App info not found for 'org.kde.krfb-virtualmonitor'") interface
'zkde_screencast_stream_unstable_v1' has no event 3 The Wayland connection
experienced a fatal error: Resource temporarily unavailable
No virtual output is created. kscreen-doctor -o shows only the physical
display.
EXPECTED RESULT
krfb-virtualmonitor creates a virtual output as it did before the 6.7.0→6.7.1
update.

Downgrading kwin/kwin-libs/kwin-common alone is not possible: the only older
build available in enabled repos is kwin-6.6.4-2 (from the base Fedora repo,
predating 6.7.0), which requires a qt6-qtbase downgrade that conflicts with
installed VirtualBox/kmod packages requiring Qt_6.11. So this could not be
locally bisected further.
This is fully reproducible standalone (not specific to any particular launcher)
