            Bug ID: 522702
Summary: Split view pane focus becomes desynchronized across
                    tabs
    Classification: Applications
           Product: dolphin
      Version First unspecified
       Reported In:
          Platform: Ubuntu
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: split view
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
                CC: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---

**DESCRIPTION**

When using Dolphin's split view together with multiple tabs, the active pane
can become inverted in one of the tabs. Mouse focus, keyboard shortcuts, and
context menus no longer correspond to the pane that is visually active.

The issue does not occur consistently, but once it happens, the split view
behaves as if the left and right panes have swapped their internal focus state.

**STEPS TO REPRODUCE**

1. Open Dolphin.
2. Enable Split View.
3. Open multiple tabs and navigate independently in each tab.
4. Continue switching between tabs and using the split panes until the issue
occurs.

**OBSERVED RESULT**

In one of the tabs (commonly the second tab), split view behaves incorrectly:

* Clicking one pane causes the opposite pane to become the active pane.
* Keyboard shortcuts (such as navigation or file operations) affect the
opposite pane instead of the pane that was clicked.
* Right-clicking inside the affected pane does not display the expected context
menu.
* The visual focus and the internal active pane appear to be out of sync.

A temporary workaround is:

* Minimize all windows (Show Desktop).
* Right-click on the desktop.
* Restore Dolphin.

After doing this, the split panes behave normally again until the issue
reappears.

**EXPECTED RESULT**

The pane that is clicked should become the active pane, receive keyboard focus,
and display its context menu correctly. Split view should behave consistently
across all tabs.

**SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS**

Operating System: Kubuntu 26.04 LTS

KDE Plasma Version: 6.6.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.24.0
Qt Version: 6.10.2
Kernel Version: 7.0.0-27-generic (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Processors: 12 × 12th Gen Intel® Core™ i7-1255U
Memory: 16 GiB of RAM (15.3 GiB usable)
Graphics Processor: Intel® Iris® Xe Graphics

**ADDITIONAL INFORMATION**

The issue appears to affect only one tab at a time. Other tabs may continue to
work normally. The problem seems related to focus synchronization between split
view panes after using multiple tabs.
