I have already tested the fix from MR !152 locally on both plasma-login-manager 6.7.1 and 6.7.2, building directly from the branch on Arch Linux, and can confirm it resolves the issue completely. I left a confirmation comment on the MR itself with the test results. I want to highlight that this is a real pain point for the Linux gaming community — specifically for users running gamescope-session setups (Steam Big Picture / HTPC) who need to switch dynamically between a gaming session and a desktop session. Distributions that do not have a straightforward way to compile and test packages locally (unlike Arch Linux) have no easy workaround while this remains unmerged.
