            Bug ID: 522809
Summary: Spacebar prepends US dialling code to numbers imported
                    from the Phonebook
    Classification: Applications
           Product: spacebar
      Version First unspecified
       Reported In:
          Platform: postmarketOS
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
                CC: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---

DESCRIPTION
Spacebar appears to insert international dialling codes to numbers found in the
Phonebook. Due to localisation issues on musl-based distributions like
postmarketOS, this is always set to the US code (+1), even if the phone number
itself already includes a dialling code (e.g., 0044 ...)

Plasma Dialler reads the same contact numbers correctly (without prepending a
dialling code).

The localisation issue is unrelated to Spacebar, but it should not be
automatically prepending dialling code, or there should be an option to disable
this.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Add a contact using the Phonebook app (e.g., 150)
2. Start a new chat from Spacebar
3. All contact numbers start with +1 (e.g., +1 150)

OBSERVED RESULT
All numbers from the Phonebook appear with the US international code (+1)
prepended. This means that messages cannot be sent to these numbers.

EXPECTED RESULT
International dialling code should not be automatically prepended, or there
should be an option to turn this off.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: postmarketOS edge (8 Jul 26)
KDE Plasma Version: 6.7.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.27.0
