I've confirmed the behavior on Plasma built from git-master. This isn't a bug, as other calendars also display the raw HTML (Thunderbird and KOranizer). The support for displaying HTML as rich text in Akonadi and the Calendar plugin of the Digital Clock needs to be developed. Changing this to wishlist, since it's a feature request rather than a bug.
