-- Information about the crash:
I've recently assembled a new desktop and after setup and installation of an OS
tried downloading and running Satisfactory. The game ran perfectly fine on a
laptop running Bazzite so I assumed it should run fine on a more powerful
desktop running Bazzite as well. It consistently crashes within an hour of
starting, and sometimes fails to start. I went with Bazzite for the immutable
and gaming aspects of it (aka I was scared of breaking something and it was
working on my Laptop already) but when trying to get all of the hardware
working on my desktop I was struggling with following troubleshooting methods
and that led me to switching to Fedora for further attempts at getting this
game running. I have yet to encounter this issue with other games running via
Proton that are similarly graphically/computationally intensive.
Background out of the way, here are the crash steps.
1) Power up computer, Steam auto starts and is set to process shaders in
background.
2) Wait several minutes because I am pulling up information on my laptop for
planning
3) Run Satisfactory via Steam
4) Play as usual
5) Crash occurs within 30-60 minutes:
a) Sound continues fine but video freezes briefly before reverting to a
frame from shortly after starting game for 30-90 seconds
b) Screen then returns to initial freeze point and remains for up to a
minute before game fully crashes and Plasma Desktop returns and crash
reports/notifications appear
c) Temperature for CPU and GPU never exceeds 80 degrees C during play,
though game is GPU bound
Steps taken in attempt to mitigate crash:
- in Bazzite run ujust update
- Reinstallation of game
- Reinstalled Proton
- changing proton version
-- Default was Experimental, switched to Hotfix, then used ProtonPlus to
install Proton-GE
- Reinstallation of Bazzite, then switching to Fedora (both KDE, verified
sha256hash before creating install media) * Started running game with setting
to generate Logs here*
- in Fedora run dnf system-upgrade
- In Fedora, using ProtonPlus to install Proton-GE and then toggle FSR 4 RDNA3
Upgrade on
For completion's sake my Laptop's hardware in general:
Acer Nitro 5 AN515-58-525P
12th Gen Intel Core i5-12500H 4500 MHz
32 GB Rzm
Nvidia RTX 3050 Laptop / Intel Iris XE integrated
Desktop info copied from Steam and slightly pruned (touch input and vr info
removed as there is none)

I can supply all of my Proton logs if needed, I've been renaming and moving
them so they don't get overridden. Sorry if this is too much/not enough, I
tried staying up all night to get this dealt with.
The crash can be reproduced every time.
