DESCRIPTION
Cannot create audio disk
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. I loaded an Audio CD which was recognized and loaded in the top panel and I
created a new Audio CD project and dragged the 11 properly identified audio
track files to the lower project panel which crashed the application. This
happened on several occasions even with complete reboots in between.
2. I starting again loading the CD and using the Project menu I added audio
files by selecting the 11 wav files which loaded to the audio files
successfully in the lower Audio Project panel window. I selected burn and
installed my blank CD the the burn application failed saying it cannot find the
wav files it just loaded ??
3. As a further test I tried to do a copy of the complete CD [disk copy] which
processed all the wave files but when i inserted my blank disk to burn it
crashed out with no meaningful error message.
4. When i select Save CD Info locally nothing happens with no feedback to the
user ??
5. Having Saved the project and on restart of K3B it can never reload the
project I previously saved reporting:
Unable to handle the following files due to an unsupported format:
You may manually convert these audio files to wave using another application
supporting the audio format and then add the wave files to the K3b project.
/home/anthony/Music/Burn/Cedar Grove.
This all happened on my desktop PC with 16 GB of RAM and an i7880 Intel
processor so i repeated all the same on my laptop running the same version of
Mint but with a different burning drive
OBSERVED RESULT
On both systems the exact same failures were observed.
EXPECTED RESULT
I expected it to work as described in the operating manual I downloaded before
i tried to make an audio CD in K3B. How can such core base functionality fail
so completely on two separate systems?
How can K3B successfully read the CD disk and see correctly all the audio files
and later report the wave format is not good. How can it be that then i select
all the wave files from the disk, it analyses them and report than as Ok
loading into the Audio project folder to later report that i need to use a 3rd
party application to reprocess these audio CD files which are stock standard
CDA format?
