--- Comment #2 from Mohamed <[email protected]> --- (In reply to Sebastian Sauer from comment #1) > > Currently, after opening the launcher, typing a key such as S may trigger > > keyboard shortcuts or other actions instead of immediately searching for > > applications. > > Not sure I understand that part. You have a global shortcut Shift+S and if > you open Kickoff and press Shift+S then that global shortcut is triggered > rather then a capital S added into the search field in Kickoff? No, that's not what I meant. For example, if I press the Meta key to open Kickoff and then press S, I expect Kickoff to immediately start searching and show applications that begin with S, such as System Settings, without requiring me to click the search field first. Instead, because the search field is not focused automatically, pressing a key does not always start a search immediately. My request is simply that the search field receives keyboard focus as soon as Kickoff opens, so users can start typing right away, similar to the Windows Start menu. The mention of keyboard shortcuts was only an example of what can happen when the search field doesn't have focus. It is not specifically about Shift+S or any particular global shortcut. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
