Backtrace for the crash
DESCRIPTION
Trying to open Application Launcher using the Meta key crashes plasmashell
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Hit the Meta key to open the Application Launcher.
OBSERVED RESULT
1. Application Launcher does not open.
2. Panel disappears, and reappears in a few seconds' time.
3. Crashed Process Viewer pops up showing a Plasmashell core dump. The back
trace has tens of thousands of identical lines from
"/builder/src/plasma-workspace/shell/shellcorona.cpp:2990". In the attached
backtrace I've removed most of these repetitions.
EXPECTED RESULT
Application Launcher opens normally without crashes.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: KDE Linux 2026-07-21
KDE Plasma Version: 6.7.80
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.29.0
Qt Version: 6.11.1
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This started appearing in KDE Linux around 2026-07-18.
No windows or applications die when the crash happens, so in practice it's an
irritation rather than anything more grievous.
I can't reproduce it reliably, but it is fairly frequent (several times per
Plasma session typically).
I'm not sure whether using the keyboard shortcut is significant. I don't
usually open the launcher with a mouse click, but can't rule out that that
would cause the crash too.
