I think that Clem is asking to add a similar feature to the task manager widget. I think that this would be a nice convenience feature. Doing this via the system monitor some extra steps that can become tedious fast. In my experience, the apps that I have to close this way do no show up in the Applications menu of System Monitor. Instead I would need to go to Processes, then filter or manually search for the correct process and then send the kill signal.
