Bug ID: 523868
Summary: Option to remove "New" label from newly installed
application without running it
Classification: Plasma
Product: plasmashell
Version First 6.7.3
Reported In:
Platform: Arch Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: Application Launcher (Kickoff) widget
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected], [email protected]
Target Milestone: 1.0
The Kickoff Application Launcher shows a "New" label next to newly installed
applications by default. This behaviour can be toggled via Application Launcher
Settings > General > Highlight newly-installed applications, but currently the
only way to dismiss this label for a given application is to launch it from the
menu.
In some cases, the application is one I am not likely to actually launch from
the menu right away (e.g. cmake-gui), but I would rather not hide it
completely. In these instances, it would be nice to have a context menu option
or similar to make the "New" label go away. Perhaps there could also be an
option to unmark all applications in a given category, or every category.
