calenders here tend to write them with the regular numerals. since the dates
drift across the years between the two it's used as a way to tell at a glance
to which calender the date belongs

yes, the day should come first in both cases. 
when written numerically the dates usually refer to the Gregorian dates, and
are written in D/M/Y 
example: 6/8/2026 for today/yesterday

the Hebrew dates are usually written out in a semi long/long format of "week
day, D(num) M(name) Y(num)" 
example: יום חמישי, כ"ג באב ה'תשפ"ו
or: Thursday, 23 of Av 5786 (yes the Hebrew calender is in the 5 thousands).
the difference between the long and semi long is by omitting the week day.
