            Bug ID: 523965
           Summary: Adjust displays scale for mouse movements
    Classification: Plasma
           Product: plasmashell
      Version First 6.7.2
       Reported In:
          Platform: Debian testing
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Display Configuration widget and OSD
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: 1.0

DESCRIPTION

    I have 2 monitors. The 1st one is a 32" with a 4K resolution. I just added
the 2nd with a Full HD resolution.
    I put them side-by-side, the new one on the left. Of course, as their
respective resolution do not match, I
    had to choose how to position the new, smaller, one vertically regarding to
the big one. I decided to go with
    the tops aligned because putting the smaller at the center of the bigger
was too error-prone (could not align
    the centers).

    What poses a problem is the mouse movements.

    When the mouse is at the bottom of the big screen, the cursor cannot move
to the small screen unless I
    move it upper, up to the bottom of the small screen, ie: when the mouse is
at the center of the big screen,
    it can be moved to the bottom of the small one.

    I think it would be a great UX to have the mouse position be scaled when
moving from one screen to the
    other:
    - top_small <---> top_big
    - center_small <---> center_big
    - bottom_small <---> bottom_big

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Have 2 monitors with different resolutions side-by-side
2. Position them with the smallest one at the top (or the bottom) of the bigger
one
3. Move the mouse between the.

OBSERVED RESULT
The mouse is blocked from moving to the small screen when at the bottom (resp.
the top) of the big screen.

EXPECTED RESULT
The mouse cursor transition between screens should be seamless.
