Bug ID: 523968
Summary: New "new game/reset actions" interrupt gameplay
Classification: Applications
Product: kmines
Version First 4.0.260780
Reported In:
Platform: Arch Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
DESCRIPTION
Prior to the latest update, regardless of failing or winning, I could start a
new game with CTRL+N. After the new update, starting a new game after winning
requires the combination CTRL+N, after failing, it's ALT+N. This is a newly
introduced inconsistency in behavior that negatively affects my playing
experience.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start Kmines
2. Fail
3. Press CTRL+N
OBSERVED RESULT
Nothing happens
EXPECTED RESULT
A new game starts
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System (available in the Info Center app, or by running `kinfo` in a
terminal window):
KDE Plasma Version: -
KDE Frameworks Version: -
Qt Version: qt6-base 6.11.1-1
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The current version of kmines is listed as "4.0.26043", which isn't available
in the list. I'm keeping the "4.0.25123" version, which also isn't in the list,
for playability.
According to the desciption of the merge request, the change in behavior is
intended only for people who have the "reset" option enabled. If the "reset"
option is disabled, the new update introduces a new window that does positively
nothing. Please change the behavior so that a player is only asked if a game
should be reset if the "reset" option is enabled. If the "reset" option is
disabled, please revert to the previous behavior of showing nothing, so that a
new game can be started with CTRL+N.
