The camera works in browsers / v4l2-ctl / ffplay, but Kamoso shows “No device
found”
Workaround:
Bash: "LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib64/libv4l/v4l2convert.so kamoso"
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Compile Kernel / Device Driver with necessary support:
Device Drivers
→ Multimedia support
→ Media drivers
→ Media USB Adapters
→ GSPCA based webcams
→ <M> ZC3XX USB Camera Driver (CONFIG_USB_GSPCA_ZC3XX)
2. Load the gspca_zc3xx module and/or reboot as necessary
3. Plug in the Creative N1025 webcam and verify it is recognized and assigned
as a input: "dmesg"

4. Verify that there is a /dev/video0 entry and the group permissions are set
to "video" and that your user account is in the "video" group:
anon@computer ~ $ ls -l /dev/video0
crw-rw----+ 1 root video 81, 0 Aug 7 14:16 /dev/video0
anon@computer ~ $ groups
anon wheel audio video usb users plugdev
(If you have to add your user account to the "video" group you may need to
reboot again)
5. Make sure the libv4l compatibility layer is installed: "sudo emerge -av
media-libs/libv4l"
5. Test the web camera with "ffplay -f v4l2 -i /dev/video0" - It should work.
6: Open Kamoso
OBSERVED RESULT
Kamoso reports "No device found" to the user.
EXPECTED RESULT
The web cam functions, Kamoso should display video. If you open Kamoso with
"LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib64/libv4l/v4l2convert.so kamoso" it will work.
