Bug ID: 524158
Summary: Application Starter does not open on first try
sometimes, temp. fixed by clearing cache
Classification: Plasma
Product: plasmashell
Version First 6.7.3
Reported In:
Platform: Bazzite
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: Application Menu (Kicker) widget
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: 1.0
DESCRIPTION
The Linux/KDE version of the start menu from Windows sometimes does not open
when hitting Windows-Key (Meta) for 1 press, 2 presses, 3 presses or sometimes
more than that. It opens shortly, but hides just as fast again.
Clearing the cache at: /home/admin/.cache/plasmashell
Does seem to fix it for like a week.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Idk use KDE on Bazzite.
2. I did edit a lot of stuff in the "KDE-Menu-Editor" so maybe that's what
happened.
3. I create many copys of programs and create new entries from scratch.
OBSERVED RESULT
I press the meta key (Windows-Key) and the Application Starter does sometimes
work like it should, and sometimes it takes multiple key presses to open,
without closing instantly again.
EXPECTED RESULT
I press the key to open the Application Starter and it opens every time.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I don't know in what Version it started, or if it's even the version at fault.
Maybe the bug existed longer and I only got it now.
Also I have no idea, what concrete component I should choose, sorry. It's the
Windows Start Menu Equivalent.
THANKS YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR WORK!
