Bug ID: 524258
Summary: Add a "Launch on dedicated GPU" option to the context
menu of .desktop files
Classification: Plasma
Product: plasmashell
Version First 6.7.4
Reported In:
Platform: Arch Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected]
Target Milestone: 1.0
DESCRIPTION
When using a device with multiple GPUs, it is important to be able to select
which program to run on which GPU. KDE Plasma already supports
`PrefersNonDefaultGPU` in .desktop files (which can also be set in the menu
editor under Advanced -> Run using dedicated graphics card).
As stated in the Arch Wiki [1], GNOME, Cosmic and Cinnamon already have an
option when right-clicking .desktop files to run a program using the dedicated
GPU. I would like to see a similar feature on KDE Plasma as well.

OBSERVED RESULT
No way to manually start a program on the dedicated GPU from the UI
EXPECTED RESULT
A option to start an application on the dedicated GPU from the Plasma UI
