Bug ID: 524337
Summary: [Feature Request] [Plasma-Bigscreen] Save display
settings for session in a separate
kwinoutputconfig.json.
Classification: Plasma
Product: Plasma Bigscreen
Version First unspecified
Reported In:
Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: Homescreen
Assignee: [email protected]

Target Milestone: ---
DESCRIPTION
Currently Plasma Bigscreen shares a kwinoutputconfig with Plasma, this means
that for a machine that has a dual-usage (Such as a desktop with connected
monitors, and a media center that outputs to a connected reciever/TV), the
display has to be switched every time.
My current workaround is to have two copies of correctly configured
kwinoutputconfigs and symlink the desired one before startplasma-wayland. As I
must not be the only one who has this setup, I think it is a valid
wishlist/feature request.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Log in to Plasma, observe monitor output
2. Change monitor settings in a noticable way (Disable a monitor, change
resolution, etc)
3. Logout
4. Login to Plasma-Bigscreen, observe monitor output
OBSERVED RESULT
Previously changed settings are now mirrored to the Bigscreen setup, too
EXPECTED RESULT
The settings pre-change are displayed in Bigscreen, indicating that the configs
are seperate.
(I imagine there would be some value in having an option in Settings to
Split/Globalize the display settings between both sessions).
