DESCRIPTION

kmail fails to authenticate gmail account using oauth2

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. stop akonadi, clear configuration, restart akonadi
2. Add new gmail account to kmail
3. paste password provided by google App Password generator (16 characters)

OBSERVED RESULT
account stays offline even when restarted
Terminal output includes . . .

gmail account is authorised and able to send and receive email
