--- Comment #4 from Kuppuswamy <[email protected]> --- Update: I was able to reproduce the same problem on Pop!_OS COSMIC as well, so this does not appear to be specific to KDE Plasma or GNOME 50. After further investigation, I found that the built-in touchscreen's Wacom HID 5365 Pen device was generating unexpected TABLET_TOOL_PROXIMITY (proximity-in / proximity-out) events even though no pen was being used and the touchscreen was not being touched. These events were observed around the time when mouse clicks and scrolling stopped responding in Chromium. After disabling the Wacom pen/touchscreen input devices through libinput/udev, I have not been able to reproduce the problem so far. Therefore, this may be related to the unexpected Wacom pen proximity events or their handling rather than being specific to KDE Plasma.
