DESCRIPTION
Please stop using religious names, even as part of other names, especially the
really offensive ones!
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use Plasma
2. Try to search, install and update programs in Discover, search or look into
KDE related folders in Dolphin.
OBSERVED RESULT
You can see programs, services, components that have religious names.
And not only that, but the most offensive one possible, like:
Powerdevil
Often written with an uppercase D, but I don't want to write his name with the
uppercase first letter as in my religion that is reserved only for the persons
in the Holy Trinity.
Similar things with deamons, daemons, whatever.
EXPECTED RESULT
As long as you don't put God's name and the names of other holy persons inside
the software running on my computer, I rather not have the names of the evil
persons either.
And honestly putting God's name on the names of other holy persons to equalize
/ balance the share or religious names would not be that good either.
As I think Their names should not be used in vain, like for menial things,
unless there is something specific to them, let's say a religious calendar or
some kind of Bible reading program.
In my opinion it's just better to not use any names that are primarily
religious, but if you do, please stop using the ones that are considered very
bad or evil by the majority of people.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I understand that whoever though or approved the usage of such names were most
likely atheists or Christianity was not their religion, but similar to how
other projects took a stance against using names related to bad things, like
slavery (Git and other projects not using anymore the master and slave pair or
names), I think KDE could also make a guideline about naming projects and files
to avoid the most popular religious names.
And then of course rename the projects and files with religious names in them.
Similar to how I don't download and keep books or other kind of files related
to evil religious beings, I don't want the software itself that is running on
my computer to force on me the usage of such names.
And this is not even a case where some text in KDE's software just happen to
translate in some language with something religious or that looks evil, as this
is the core of the KDE's software.
It's very clear that this was the intention and it was not a mistake.
If someone that it's funny, it isn't, at all!
So what I'm asking, even if you don't believe in these things, it would be very
nice for the believing people if KDE's software didn't use such offensive words
and rename them to something else, like:
manager, controller, service, process, etc.
I think similar to avoiding words related to slavery, racism and other other
things, words related to religion could be avoided.
In the end it's just about renaming some things for the people who believe in
them or think that they are offensive or wrongly used.
Sorry about asking for this, but this is my 100th bug report / feature request
here and I thought to make it a bit special compared to the previous bug
reports / feature requests, after seeing a few days ago updates in Discover
about Power***** that I didn't know I had it installed.
I was instantly shocked and offended by that name and thought that I must leave
my feedback with what I felt about it so there is a chance that it's fixed and
others will not be feeling the same in the future.
