Bug ID: 524484
Summary: Edge/corner barrier settings not saving, revert to
default when switching settings view
Classification: Applications
Product: systemsettings
Version First 6.7.3
Reported In:
Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: kcm_kwinscreenedges
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected], [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
DESCRIPTION
Not 100% sure with which version of Plasma this started, I first noticed it
after re-installing Fedora on my laptop 1-2 months ago. Since then I'm unable
to change or turn off the edge and corner barrier settings. They show the
correct values after applying, but when I switch to any other page in the
system settings and then back to the screen edge page, the settings are
reverted back to the default values.
After a few experiments I noticed that the nightlight settings page is also
affected.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Change/disable the edge and/or corner barrier settings and apply
2. switch to any other page of the system settings window
3. switch back to screen edge page
OBSERVED RESULT
Changed settings have reverted to default values
EXPECTED RESULT
Setting are properly applied and "stick".
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System (available in the Info Center app, or by running `kinfo` in a
terminal window): Fedora 44 (KDE)
KDE Plasma Version: 6.7.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.29.0
Qt Version: 6.11.1
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I posted this on KDE discuss first since I wasn't sure if it's a bug or not
(https://discuss.kde.org/t/49011). One of the replies recommended to use a
script to watch if the settings are saved to a config file, and that script
confirmed that nothing happens when the changes are applied.
