    Classification: Applications
           Product: kstars
      Version First 3.8.3
       Reported In:
          Platform: Ubuntu
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: [email protected]

  Target Milestone: ---

DESCRIPTION

Not sure if limited just to scheduler.

When using phd2 for guiding and when running scheduled imaging with [X] Guide
enabled, the scheduler is not able to detect when phd2 fails with "RA
Calibration Failed: star did not move enough".

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Setup capture sequence
2. Create scheduled job and enable [X] Guide
3. Leave guiding scope covered or otherwise make sure no real star is available
to phd2
4. Execute the job

OBSERVED RESULT

Scheduler does nothing after phd2 has failed with "RA Calibration Failed: star
did not move enough".

EXPECTED RESULT

Scheduler should 1) detect the error 2) restart phd2 guiding process until it
succeeds or have some way to handle the issue. At the moment imaging will not
commence.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
