Bug ID: 524568
Summary: Spectacle Edit Mode Does not Edit
Classification: Applications
Product: Spectacle
Version First unspecified
Reported In:
Platform: CachyOS
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: major
Priority: NOR
Component: General
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
DESCRIPTION
Spectacle has no "save" button to save edits - making edit mode completely
useless. Moving from one tool to another discards the edit. There is no way to
save the edits. Edit mode is completely useless.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Take a screenshot
2. Find edit mode
3. Try to edit
4. Try to locate a save button. There is none.
5. Click another tool. You just lost your edit.
6. Repeat step 3.
7. Try save as.
8. View your saved photo.
OBSERVED RESULT
Edits are not saved. When switching tools edits are discarded. Save as does not
save edits. There is no way to actually edit screenshots. Edit mode is
completely useless and serves no purpose right now. Why even have it in the
application if it doesn't actually edit? Shipping a broken screenshot tool with
poor documentation with a widely distributed GUI package is unacceptable.
EXPECTED RESULT
Edit mode works as it should and the documentation explains how to use it.
