Bug ID: 524572
Summary: digiKam import restores files deleted in prior culling
Classification: Applications
Product: digikam
Version First 9.1.0
Reported In:
Platform: Other
OS: Other
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: Import-Albums
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
DESCRIPTION
digiKam loses track of imported media easily and obliterates results of
laborious culling. Instead of verifying that any of the imported media is an
exact duplicate (by hash) of any of the files in the target album, it just
considers every single file "new".
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Have a camera with 2 memory slots; import images from memory card in slot 1
2. Swap memory cards in the camera.
3. Initiate new import session.
OBSERVED RESULT
digiKam considers every photo "new" despite some exact duplicates that exist in
the database
EXPECTED RESULT
dgiKam must display checkmarks for images that have been imported at any prior
point in time, and should warn that the import may recreate files that have
been intentionally removed in prior culling session
