SUMMARY
Plasma Browser Integration causes RTBF Auvio (https://auvio.rtbf.be/)
to fail with a client-side JavaScript exception.
The problem affects both Firefox and Brave.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use KDE Plasma on CachyOS.
2. Install and enable the Plasma Browser Integration browser extension.
3. Open https://auvio.rtbf.be/
4. Log in if necessary.
5. Try to browse the site and start a video.
OBSERVED RESULT
With the Plasma Browser Integration extension enabled, RTBF Auvio
does not load correctly.
In some cases the page initially appears not to load correctly and
requires a manual refresh (F5).
When attempting to start a video, the page displays:
"Application error: a client-side exception has occurred"
The problem is reproducible in both Firefox and Brave.
EXPECTED RESULT
RTBF Auvio should load normally and videos should start playing
without a client-side JavaScript exception.
ADDITIONAL TESTING
I initially suspected a browser cache issue and tested the site
with the browser cache disabled and after clearing browsing data.
This did not resolve the problem.
The issue was eventually isolated to the Plasma Browser Integration
extension.
The same Auvio pages work correctly when the Plasma Browser
Integration extension is disabled.
The problem also does not occur in a private/incognito browsing
window, where the extension is not active.
I tested this with both Firefox and Brave, with the same result.

Brave: 1.93.137-1
RECENT UPDATES
On 2026-08-21, the following relevant packages were upgraded:
plasma-integration: 6.7.4-1.1 -> 6.7.4-3.1
plasma-workspace: 6.7.4-1.1 -> 6.7.4-3.1
Qt 6 was also upgraded from 6.11.1 to 6.11.2.
Brave was upgraded from 1.93.136 to 1.93.137 on the same day.
The Plasma Browser Integration package itself is currently:
plasma-browser-integration 6.7.4-1.1
For reference, it was previously upgraded from 6.7.3-1.1
to 6.7.4-1.1 on 2026-08-05.
REGRESSION / POSSIBLE CAUSE
I cannot determine whether the regression was introduced by
Plasma Browser Integration itself, plasma-integration, Qt, or
a browser update.
However, disabling the Plasma Browser Integration browser
extension immediately resolves the problem.
Because the issue occurs in both Firefox and Brave, it does not
appear to be specific to one browser engine.
I am reporting this because the problem may affect other users
of Plasma Browser Integration on RTBF Auvio.
Additional Information :
A similar issue appears to have been reported in KDE Bug 521260, where
plasma-browser-integration causes a website-specific failure on Digitec.ch in
both Firefox and Chromium/Brave. Disabling the extension resolves the issue.
My issue appears to have the same general pattern, but affects RTBF Auvio and
results in a client-side exception and failure to start video playback.
