            Bug ID: 524684
Summary: Manual multi‑language aliases for auto‑tags and custom
                    translation API support
    Classification: Applications
           Product: digikam
      Version First 9.2.0
       Reported In:
          Platform: Microsoft Windows
                OS: Microsoft Windows
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Maintenance-AutoTags
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---

Problem description
1. The built‑in online translation for auto‑tags performs poorly in mainland
China.
Google / Bing / Yandex APIs are inaccessible or unstable. Network timeouts
severely slow down auto‑tag scanning. Worse, broken translation responses
create invalid `zh‑CN` physical tag nodes and pollute the tag tree.
2. AI‑generated auto‑tags under /auto/ have NO Localization tab in their
property dialog. Users cannot manually add Chinese aliases for search purpose.
Manually‑created tags support multi‑language aliases, but auto‑tags do not.
3. There is no setting for custom translation API key, such as Baidu
Translation from China.

Expected solution
1. Expose Localization / multi‑language alias panel for AI‑generated auto‑tags.
Let user input Chinese aliases manually. Aliases only serve for search, do NOT
modify original English tag name, to avoid breaking auto‑tag logic and
duplicate tags.
2. Add configuration option for custom translation API key (Baidu Translation
etc.) as alternative translation backend.
3. Silently skip translation when network request fails. Do NOT block AI image
analysis task, and do NOT create malformed fake tag nodes.

Use case
Chinese users want to search photos with Chinese keywords for auto‑tags. We
hope to avoid network‑caused slow‑down and corrupted tag tree.
