Bug ID: 524690
Summary: When updates are set to apply "Immediately", discover
doesn't show update progress at all
Classification: Applications
Product: Discover
Version First 6.7.4
Reported In:
Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: Updates
Assignee: [email protected]

Target Milestone: ---
DESCRIPTION
On Fedora KDE, when I set updates to "Immediate", and then install system
updates, there is no progress indicator of any kind. It doesnt show per package
progress or even an overall progress bar or any way to indicate its doing
something. If I close discover, it will pop up that its working in the
background, but still no progress indicator of any kind. (The progress
indicator still works fine for Flatpaks, its just system packages it disappears
for)
This doesn't affect systems with offline updates configured, and I also could
nor reproduce this issue on other distros (Kubuntu, Tuxedo OS, etc).
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Be using Fedora KDE
2. Set updates to apply "Immediately" in Settings > Software Update
3. Install updates for the system (RPM updates, not flatpak/snaps)
OBSERVED RESULT
No progress indicator of any kind, only complete silence until the update has
finished. For example, itll go from showing say 200 updates to 0 updates
instantly.
EXPECTED RESULT
A progress indicator displaying overall progress and/or per package progress
indication of download/installing.
