Draining the udev event queue appeared to take 10 seconds, which I believe is the hiccup you refer to. With that, I was down an ever deepening rabbit hole, along with Claude instead of Alice. Or to mix metaphors, I felt like a pre-copernican astronomer coming up with ever more convoluted explanations for anomalous observations. The result was today's commits. Function dw_udev_drain() is now traceable, so add that function to the others in ddcutilrc. Let me now powerdevil/libddcutil now behaves, and submit the relevant journal output.
