Bug ID: 524842
Summary: Folders are displayed at a different zoom level than
configured under some circumstances
Classification: Applications
Product: dolphin
Version First git-master
Reported In:
Platform: KDE Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Keywords: regression
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: view-engine: general

Target Milestone: ---
DESCRIPTION
Since 26.08, Dolphin doesn't show reliably folders with the zoom level they
were configured with, but switching temporarily to a different zoom level
instead under some circumstances. This is a regression from Dolphin 26.04.x.
For better illustration, see also the attached screencast.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Boot current KDE Linux live image in a VM.
2. In Dolphin, go to "Configure Dolphin" -> View -> General, and enable
"Remember display style for each folder".
3. While in the home folder, go to "View -> Adjust View Display Style...", set
"View Mode" to "Details", uncheck "Show preview", check "Use as default view
setting", click Ok.
4. Notice that zoom level for details view is visibly too large.
5. Close and restart Dolphin. You should still be in the home folder.
6. Notice that zoom level for details view is now correct (smallest possible
size).
7. Enter another folder that contains some content.
8. For that folder, set "View Mode" to "Icons", and enable "Show preview".
9. Go back to the home folder.
OBSERVED RESULTS
Notice that like in step 4, the zoom level in the home folder is too large. You
need to restart Dolphin to make it change to the correct zoom level.
EXPECTED RESULTS
The configured zoom level for folders should stay consistent and predictable,
and being independent from what is configured on other folders.
