DESCRIPTION
After updating my computer to Fedora KDE Plasma Desktop 7.1.13-200.fc44, some
animations now play, even though my animation speed is set to instant. My
previous version was Fedora 7.1.9-200.fc44.
Animations that now play include:
- system tray:
- icons shrinking when clicked
- twisty arrow spinning when sub-panel opened
- application launcher:
- results appearing / disappearing during search
- calendar widget:
- sliding between months
- sliding between tabs
- discover, settings, elisa:
- page transitions
- spinning gear while loading
- systemwide:
- tooltips fading in / out
Animations that still do not play include:
- panels:
- panels / sub-panels appearing and disappearing
- widget hover info fading in / out
- krunner:
- results appearing / disappearing during search
- systemwide:
- windows opening / closing
- task switcher fading in / out
- switching desktops
Additionally, both Firefox and Chromium still use reduced motion for both
websites and their own UI.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open system settings
2. Change animation speed to instant
3. Try any of the behavior listed in "animations that play" above, such as
clicking a system tray icon.
OBSERVED RESULT
Animations play on interaction.
EXPECTED RESULT
Animations do not play, the change happens instantly.
