TraceyC <[email protected]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|REPORTED |RESOLVED CC| |[email protected] Resolution|--- |FIXED --- Comment #6 from TraceyC <[email protected]> --- There are three different bugs being conflated here. 1. The login sound being played when the previous session was muted - this seems to be resolved, since no one has reproduced this and I don't see any other reports of it. 2. The login sound not playing at all - this also seems to be resolved. 3. The login sound only playing intermittently, with a journal log error. This seems to be a local system problem, based on this error: "Failed to play startup sound with Canberra: IO error" An IO error means the system was not able to read the sound file from disk, so it couldn't play it. This is something you'll need to troubleshoot on your system. Intermittent errors reading a file may indicate disk corruption or impending failure, so you'll probably want to make sure your backups are up to date. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
