--- Comment #4 from Akhil Sakthieswaran <[email protected]> ---
Tried reproducing the issue on a live boot of Fedora 44 installation media. The
issue is not reproducible in this and the search works as expected.

The machine where the issue was observed had been upgraded through Fedora 42 ->
43 -> 44. From the comments on the MR looks like the applet was ported to not
use the weather data engine somewhere after July 2025 during which Fedora 42
was the latest version available.

Probably this was caused because the weather applet was not upgraded when
upgrading the OS ?

Running the below commands after removing the extra '|' and compiling seems to
fix the issue, so looks like the weather applet on this machine is indeed
relying on the weather dataengine.

```
sudo cp
~/kde/usr/lib64/plugins/plasma5support/dataengine/plasma_engine_bbcukmet.so
/usr/lib64/qt6/plugins/plasma5support/dataengine/
systemctl --user restart plasma-plasmashell.service
```
