Since there were bug reports and mailing list discussions related to Payees I decided not to report the issue hoping that it would be resolved. I compiled in the past few days and the problem is fixed. I was able to cause it by simply adding a new payee and then deleting it. That way I was sure there was no other reference to the payee in schedules, reports or any where else. When I did that just now, the payee simply gets deleted. I'm running on Linux and compiled it myself. I suggest find a very recently compiled Windows version. I run the Master Branch but I suspect this was fixed in the 5.2 branch.
