Crash triggered while stuck to get a backtrace
DESCRIPTION
Before you get tempted to flag this as a duplicate of
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=521823 , I am not using the faulty
libpng-apng from the last time, but libpng from cachyos-extra-v3.
As the title states, the window loading process gets stuck if the picture to
open is a .png, and is more likely to get stuck if there is already an open
window of Photos yet the delay is presented nevertheless.
The delay can range up to ~20 s, and both thumbnails and full PNG pictures are
rendered in no time within Photos itself. The delay is only present when
opening Photos externally such as double clicking a PNG file.
I've triggered a SIGABRT when it is stuck to get a .kcrash of this. I would not
be surprised if the problem is that libpng likes to get thread starved when
compiled with any kind of optimization flags, but I am not really sure given
the backtrace.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a PNG file with a double click with Photos set as your default viewer
OBSERVED RESULT
Window takes a long time to load up (5s with JPG vs 15+ with PNG), while
navigating PNG files within Photos does not cause visible delays.
EXPECTED RESULT
Window spawn should not take any longer regardless of the file format.
Ideally, the window is to spawn first of all and only once shown up, start
loading the picture and the folder.
