Summary: KDE Connect fails to reconnect after switching from
cellular data to Wi-Fi while mobile data remains
enabled.

KDE Connect on my Android phone fails to rediscover/reconnect to my paired
Windows PC after the phone transitions from cellular data to Wi-Fi.
The issue appears to be specifically related to the **cellular → Wi-Fi network
transition**.
If mobile data is completely disabled after connecting to Wi-Fi, KDE Connect
immediately starts working again. I do not need to restart the PC or change the
Wi-Fi network.
I have not determined whether this is specific to my device/Android version or
reproducible more generally.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Pair an Android phone and Windows PC using KDE Connect.
2. Start with the phone using cellular/mobile data.
3. Enable Wi-Fi on the phone and connect to the same local network as the PC.
4. Keep mobile data enabled.
5. Wait for the Wi-Fi connection to become fully established.
6. Open KDE Connect on the phone.
7. KDE Connect fails to rediscover/reconnect to the paired PC.
8. Disable mobile data while keeping Wi-Fi enabled.
9. KDE Connect immediately becomes able to connect to the PC.
Observed behavior:
KDE Connect does not re-establish the connection after switching from cellular
data to Wi-Fi if mobile data remains enabled.
The underlying Wi-Fi/LAN connection is functional.
Testing from the Windows PC showed that the Android phone remained reachable
over the local network, including a successful TCP connection to KDE Connect's
port 1716.
Disabling mobile data immediately resolves the problem.
Expected behavior:
KDE Connect should detect the transition from cellular data to Wi-Fi and
rediscover/reconnect to the paired PC over the local Wi-Fi network.
Mobile data should be able to remain enabled without preventing KDE Connect
from communicating with the PC over Wi-Fi.
Network testing:
When the problem occurs:
* PC → Android ping: successful, 0% packet loss.
* TCP port 1716 on the Android device: reachable.
* KDE Connect's Windows daemon (`kdeconnectd.exe`) was running and listening on
TCP/UDP port 1716.
This indicates that basic LAN connectivity remains functional while the KDE
Connect reconnection problem occurs.
Device information:
Android:
* Manufacturer: Xiaomi
* Model: M2101K7AI
* Android version: Android 12
* MIUI version: 14.0.5
* KDE Connect Android version: 1.35.14
Windows:
* Windows version: 24H2 (OS Build 26100.9168)
* KDE Connect Windows version: 26.04.2
Additional observations:
The most significant observation is that disabling mobile data immediately
restores KDE Connect connectivity while Wi-Fi remains connected.
I do not know whether the root cause is in KDE Connect, Android's
network/interface handling, or the device manufacturer's network
implementation.
I am reporting the behavior because it is reproducible on my device.
I have not yet tested whether the same behavior occurs on other Android devices
or Android versions.
Reproducibility:
The cellular → Wi-Fi transition consistently triggers the problem on my setup.
I have not yet established whether it occurs on other devices or networks.
