SUMMARY When opening and saving files using the open/save dialog, we get the option to show the filter bar. For the other options, like Show Hidden Files, the Places panel, Preview panel, and Allow Expansion in Details View, the settings a user selects are all retained for the next time a user accesses the open/save dialog. However, the Quick Filter bar is never retained, and the user always has to re-enable it either via shortcut or from the menu. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Access the open/save dialog from anywhere (web browser/Kate/etc.). 2. Show the Quick Filter bar by selecting it in the menu and save or open a file. 3. Repeat the action and notice that the Quick Filter bar has to be reshown manually. OBSERVED RESULT The Quick Filter bar is not automatically shown in new open/save dialogs. EXPECTED RESULT The Quick Filter bar is automatically retained and shown in new open/save dialogs.
