Please feel free to amend. DESCRIPTION When a line height multiplier's value different than 1 is selected in Kate, the cursor is misplaced, sometimes appearing between lines (I guess it depends on how the fractional lines align). STEPS TO REPRODUCE Go to Settings --> Appearance --> General and choose a line height multiplier value different than 1 (e.g. 1.3 in my case). Open a multi-line text file. OBSERVED RESULT Cursor not rendered correctly and flashing between lines (much like the OP's attached video) EXPECTED RESULT Cursor is rendered correctly and completely flashing in a line SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS KDE Plasma Version: 6.7.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.29.0 Qt Version: 6.11.2 Kate v. 26.08.0 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION - Reverting the multiplier to 1.0 fixes the issue. - The issue seems to occur with any font (didn't try everything, though). Unrelated: Clicking "apply" when changing the font in Kate doesn't actually update the view with the new font, you need to close and re-open Kate for the new font to be applied.
