           Summary: Dolphin segfaults on every launch in
                    DolphinTabPage::restoreState() when the saved session
                    tab state cannot be parsed
    Classification: Applications
           Product: dolphin
      Version First 26.08.1

          Platform: KDE Linux

            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: crash
          Priority: NOR

  Target Milestone: ---

DESCRIPTION
Dolphin crashes immediately on every launch; no window appears. The crash
happens while restoring the saved tab state from the KDE session restore file
~/.config/session/dolphin_dolphin_dolphin.
The file was written by this same Dolphin version (26.08.1) during a normal
session save (file mtime 2026-09-17 13:51). Every launch after that crashed,
including after reboots, so the file manager could not be opened at all until
the file was deleted manually.
The triggering state file is attached. The crash is 100% reproducible with the
file present, and Dolphin starts normally with the file removed. This was
verified in both directions multiple times.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Place the attached file at ~/.config/session/dolphin_dolphin_dolphin
2. Launch Dolphin (/usr/bin/dolphin, no arguments; from the taskbar or from a
terminal - same result)
3. Dolphin segfaults immediately, no window appears

OBSERVED RESULT
SIGSEGV on every launch (crash loop; persists across reboots).
Backtrace from coredumpctl, main thread (no debug symbols installed):

#0  __pthread_kill_implementation (libc.so.6 + 0x8ff70)
#1  raise (libc.so.6 + 0x3b89c)
#2  KCrash::defaultCrashHandler(int) (libKF6Crash.so.6 + 0x78c8)
#3  n/a (linux-vdso.so.1 + 0x7f4)
#4  n/a (linux-vdso.so.1 + 0x7f4)
#5  DolphinTabPage::restoreState(QByteArray const&) (dolphin + 0x9d8d4)

EXPECTED RESULT
Dolphin starts. If the saved tab state cannot be parsed, it should be ignored
(optionally with a warning), never crash. An unparseable session state file
must not make the application unlaunchable.
