I apolofgize if I was not clear enough previously. I'll try to frame it differently. Do Not Disturb prevents new notifications from showing up on screen, in other words, it mutes them. That's its purpose. When it is toggled on, it mutes the notifications that are *currently* displayed on the screen, those that just arrived and have not timed out. That's perfectly fine and should stay like that. When it is toggled off, it pops up AGAIN notifications that were ALREADY MUTED and moved to the tray when it was toggled on. Why? Why in the world would the desktop show again the notifications that Do Not Disturb toggle muted? The idea is very simple: every notification that Do Not Disturb has muted, should NEVER show up in screen again. It must stay in the tray. The hold-and-release on toggle behavior DND currently has is very annoying for daily driving. If you think this should not be the default, at least please for the love of God make an option to disable this re-popup. This is a very very annoying issue/behavior while daily driving with a high count of notifications and I just want to be able to enforce this rule in my computer that is: "a notification that was muted or hidden by Do Not Disturb must NEVER show on screen; once it is muted it stays exclusively in the tray; either muted the moment it was turned on or muted while it was enabled" > Would this be an accurate simplification of the issue? Yes and no. The most accurate simplification does not involve fullscreen or timers at all. That was just an example on how it affects. It involves the only and sole fact that a muted notification MUST NOT invade the screen again, like this: 1. In a terminal window, run `notify-send hi` 2. Enable Do Not Disturb. This hides the notification to the tray. 3. Disable Do Not Disturb. The desired behavior is that by *******no means******** this "hi" notification gets displayed again on screen. Never. Ever.
