We are trying to get Plasma 6.7.90 to pass QA tests on Fedora in rawhide (See:
https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2026-bc529bf7f4) and one of our
tests involves locking the session (Meta+L) and clicking on "Switch user".
That function currently does not work. You can see the openQA video in the
above link, but here's the note from the Fedora Quality member on the update
thread:
Per the execution log we click the "Switch User" button at XX:54:58. At
XX:55:20 per the VM journal - note these clocks can get slightly misaligned,
though I don't think they are in this case - we see this message:
Sep 16 14:55:20 fedora kscreenlocker_greet[3717]: Failed to lock screen before
switching user: "Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote
application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the
reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken."
which seems interesting. Ten seconds after that, we start seeing a bunch of
warnings apparently to do with not being able to set up a display properly? See

lines 19624 onwards. From the execution log it looks like the test gives up and
switches to a console to do its post-failure log uploads around
XX:55:33-XX:55:37, so although the timing is tight, I think that message flood
at XX:55:30-XX:55:31 happens before the test switches to a VT.
