The picture is delayed rather than lost; it does appear without seeking, after a delay that scales with the frame interval rather than with time, which points at first-frame presentation being gated on a fixed frame count of roughly 12: 0.5 fps -> ~24 s (12 frames) 1 fps -> ~11 s (11 frames) 2 fps -> ~4 s ( 8 frames) 30 fps -> immediate Backend is the variable, not packaging: Fedora 44, Dragon 26.08.1, Qt 6.11.2, FFmpeg 8.1.2 ffmpeg backend: ~11 s at 1 fps gstreamer backend: immediate Flathub org.kde.dragonplayer 26.04.3, org.kde.Platform 6.11, FFmpeg 7.1.3 ffmpeg backend: ~10 s at 1 fps gstreamer backend: immediate Reproduces identically under Wayland and X11. mpv and VLC display the same files immediately, and `ffmpeg -i <file> -f null -` exits 0 with no warnings, so the files are valid. Since qt.multimedia.ffmpeg is upstream Qt code, I've reported it there with the reproducer series attached: https://qt-project.atlassian.net/browse/QTBUG-150596 Fine to leave this closed; recording it so anyone hitting the same symptom in Dragon finds the upstream issue instead of re-testing from scratch.
