Bug ID: 526091
Summary: Un-ticking updates in Discover that are closer to the
end (bottom) of the list makes the view jump to the
top and selects the first entry
Classification: Applications
Product: Discover
Version First 6.7.4
Reported In:
Platform: Debian testing
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: Updates
Assignee: [email protected]

Target Milestone: ---
DESCRIPTION
Un-ticking updates in Discover that are closer to the end (bottom) of the list
makes the view jump to the top and selects the first entry
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Discover
2. Click on the 'Updates' entry in the left panel
3. If you don't have many packages to update, try again in a day or more when
you have more updates or resize the window to make it smaller so the scroll bar
appears.
4. When you have many updates or you resized the window, scroll down and start
deselecting one or more towards the end of the list (closer to the bottom).
OBSERVED RESULT
1. When start deselecting update entries from the end or close to the end of
the list, the view jumps up to the begging of the list and I have to scroll
down to reach the position I was on.
2. The first update entry (at the top) also gets selected for some reason.
This happens only with the first checbox untick.
After that, there is not more jumping or first update getting selected.
EXPECTED RESULT
1. The list of updates should not jump, no matter from where the update entries
are unticked.
2. The first one should not be selected unless there's a arrow-up or
arrow-down being pressed or a mouse hover the first one.

RAM: 8 GiB
GPU 1: Intel UHD 620
GPU 2: AMD Radeon R5 M465
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The problem can be seen only when you have enough updates entries so that the
scroll bar is visible.
If you have less just a few make the the window non-maximized (windowwed) and
resize it so only a few are visible and then scroll down to the end and start
unticking.
Between tests, close and reopen Discover as this happens only wiht the first
untick.
I happens for quite some time and it's very annoying when combined with another
bug that you refuse to fix:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=523900
So every time I scroll down do deselect all the updates that start with 'shim',
when I untick the first one, the view jumps to top and I have to scroll back
down again so I can untick the other ones too.
It makes absolutely no sense why the view would jump when unticking from the
end.
I see a somewhat related bug report in Possible duplicates, but that seems to
have been fixed a long time ago:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=305812
So I don't know if there's anything helpful in it or what it mentions, but the
titled looked similar to my problem.
