This sounds complex so lets reproduce.
Use KDE Connect and Haruna and play a movie. During playback, presentation mode
is enforced or at least sleep is inhibited. When pausing the video, the display
can dim and turn off again.
Wait until the display got dimmer and then resume playback using the media
controls of KDE Connect. I am not sure if this would work when pressing the
space bar.
The screen stays dim until any input occurs, like wiggling the mouse. Instead,
it should brighten up again as soon as an app enforces sleep.
Not sure if kwin is the right component.
