Screenshot of the glitched chromium that i caught from highspeed camera.
DESCRIPTION
If you open a single, maximized app with the panel set to auto-hide and no
other apps/applets on the screen. random glitches appear on the screen (I only
was able to reproduce it with Chromium and Waydroid). The glitches can cause
epileptic seizures that why I marked it major.
Screenshot is attached.
Note that It does not happen on fullscreen apps, Only on maximized ones.
ALSO PLEASE SEE THE ADDITIONAL INFO.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a resource-heavy app (for me it happened with chromium and waydroid)
2. Set panel to auto-hide (it only )
3. Maximize the window
4. Interact with the application (on chromium you can move your mouse around
rapidly on a bunch of links until you see the glitch)
OBSERVED RESULT
Glitches and sudden flash of colors happens randomly. every thing goes back to
normal in a few dozen milliseconds.
EXPECTED RESULT
No glitches
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Devuan GNU/Linux 7
KDE Plasma Version: 6.7.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.30.0
Qt Version: 6.10.2
Kernel Version: 7.2.6+deb14-amd64 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i5-6400 CPU @ 2.70GHz

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
If you put any window in front of the maximized window the glitches won't occur
If you put any window behind the maximized window the glitches will occur
If you resize the window to the size of the screen (but not maximize it) the
problem once again disappear
even if you have a notification on your screen the issue goes away. Sounds like
somthing related to KDE than the apps or hardware.
