            Bug ID: 526362
Summary: Website help docs have broken help:/ links
    Classification: Websites
           Product: docs.kde.org
      Version First unspecified
       Reported In:
          Platform: Other
                OS: Microsoft Windows
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: docs.kde.org
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---

DESCRIPTION

I was browsing kate help docs in the browser, specifically
https://docs.kde.org/trunk_kf6/en/kate/kate/kate-part.html. Clicking on the
"Working with the KatePart Editor chapter of the KatePart Handbook" links to
help:/katepart/kate-part.html which is not a valid link for the browser.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open https://docs.kde.org/trunk_kf6/en/kate/kate/kate-part.html in the
browser
2. Click to open the "Working with the KatePart Editor chapter of the KatePart
Handbook" link in a new tab

OBSERVED RESULT

Tab opens a blank page.

EXPECTED RESULT

The link in this case should be to
https://docs.kde.org/trunk_kf6/en/kate/katepart/kate-part.html. Maybe help:/
links work on a KDE system but I'm on Windows. For the website version of docs
specifically, I would expect it to behave like other intra-section links which
use regular https:// and not help:/.

I'm not sure how this is supposed to work. The url is hardcoded in the docs
folder
(https://invent.kde.org/utilities/kate/-/blob/master/doc/kate/index.docbook?ref_type=heads).
There are other <ulink> entries like this too.

I found this commit,
https://invent.kde.org/frameworks/kdoctools/-/commit/60b2ed0e85ed42b728473be4aed24d19cdf74a13,
whose commit description seems somewhat relevant? Not super sure.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows 10
