Bug ID: 526452
Summary: New events sent to Google Calendar are rejected with
"Invalid recurrence rule" unless repeat is manually
re-selected as "Never"
Classification: Applications
Product: Merkuro
Version First 26.08.1
Reported In:
Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
Creating a new, non-recurring event in Merkuro Calendar on a Google Groupware
calendar fails: the event is saved with an empty "RRULE:" line, Google rejects
it with HTTP 400 "Invalid recurrence rule", and the event stays only in the
local Akonadi cache. The repeat field shows "Never" by default; the event is
only accepted if I select another repeat option and then switch back to
"Never" before saving. KOrganizer works fine with the same account.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Merkuro Calendar with a Google Groupware (akonadi_google_resource)
account
2. Create a new event, leave repeat on the default "Never"
3. Save
OBSERVED RESULT
The stored item contains an empty RRULE (raw payload from akonadiconsole):
BEGIN:VEVENT
...
SUMMARY:Test
RRULE:
DTSTART;TZID=Europe/Rome:20260930T133000
DTEND;TZID=Europe/Rome:20260930T143000
akonadi_google_resource log:
Bad request .../calendars/<account>/events?sendUpdates=none ...
Google replied: {"error":{"errors":[{"domain":"global","reason":"invalid",
"message":"Invalid recurrence rule."}],"code":400,"message":"Invalid
recurrence rule."}}
When opening the editor Merkuro also logs:
IncidenceEditorPage.qml:1060: TypeError: Cannot read property 'count' of null
EXPECTED RESULT
No RRULE is written for a non-recurring event, and the event syncs to Google.
WORKAROUND
Select any repeat option, then select "Never" again before saving.
