screenshot for KClock time zones bug
On the "Time" page, the list of additional time zones is ordered by the
absolute number of hours they differ from the local time zone, ignoring the
sign. Zones that are behind local time and zones that are ahead of local time
are therefore interleaved, which makes the list hard to scan.
Steps to reproduce:
Set the system time zone to Europe/Berlin (CET, UTC+1).
In Clock, open the "Time" page and add these locations: London, New York,
Perth, Los Angeles, Auckland.
Observed result:
The list is ordered as follows (difference to local time):
London (-1 h)
New York (-6 h)
Perth (+6 h)
Los Angeles (-9 h)
Auckland (+11 h)
This is a sort by absolute difference (1, 6, 6, 9, 11). Zones behind and ahead
of local time alternate (-1, -6, +6, -9, +11), so the list does not follow any
intuitive geographic or chronological order.
Expected result:
The list should be sorted by signed UTC offset, from the zone furthest behind
to the zone furthest ahead (or the reverse), for example:
Los Angeles (-9 h), New York (-6 h), London (-1 h), Perth (+6 h), Auckland (+11
h)
Ideally the local time zone would also be shown as an entry at its natural
position in this list, so the user can see at a glance which zones are earlier
and which are later than their own.
