Bug ID: 526574
Summary: When the new “Right-click → Pastes from clipboard”
option is enabled, a normal right-click both pastes
the clipboard contents and opens the context menu.
Classification: Applications
Product: konsole
Version First 26.08.1
Reported In:
Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: copy-paste
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
When the new “Right-click → Pastes from clipboard” option is enabled, a normal
right-click both pastes the clipboard contents and opens the context menu.
These two actions should be mutually exclusive.
Steps to reproduce
1. Open Konsole.
2. Open Configure Konsole → Profiles → Mouse.
3. Set the right-click behavior to “Pastes from clipboard”.
4. Copy some text to the clipboard.
5. Focus the terminal and perform a normal right-click.
Actual behavior
The clipboard contents are pasted into the terminal, but the Konsole context
menu is also opened by the same right-click.
This makes the feature impractical to use because every right-click causes two
actions.
Expected behavior
With “Pastes from clipboard” enabled:
* Right-click should paste from the clipboard and should not open the context
menu.
* Ctrl + right-click should open the context menu, as documented by the feature
implementation.
The right-click paste and context-menu actions should therefore be mutually
exclusive.

Konsole 26.08.1
